— Our Programmes
Three programmes, each designed for a different kind of reader
The right programme depends on where you are in your financial life and what kind of question you are sitting with. All three are educational — none of them end with a product sale.

How We Work
Our approach to financial education
Each Sable & Co programme is structured around reading rather than presenting. We do not use slide decks as the primary teaching tool. Materials are distributed in advance or at the start of the session, and the facilitator works through them with the group — explaining, answering questions, and adjusting the pace as needed.
Sessions are held at our studio on Jalan Sultan Ismail in central Kuala Lumpur. The room is designed for a small group working with printed materials — good light, sufficient table space, no unnecessary visual stimulation. For household engagements, sessions may be conducted at a location convenient to the household by arrangement.
All three programmes are updated before each new session cycle to reflect the current state of Malaysian financial regulation, EPF rules, and PRS structures. What you receive is current content, not a programme that was designed five years ago and has run unchanged since.
Programme I
Personal Ledger Workshop
RM 520 · One day · Twice yearly
A one-day workshop for adults who would like to begin keeping a simple personal ledger — a small bound notebook in which a brief monthly financial summary is written by hand once a month. The workshop covers what to write, what to leave out, how to reconcile the ledger against bank statements each quarter, and how to keep the habit going through busy months.
What the day covers
- The structure of a personal monthly ledger — income, fixed obligations, variable spending, savings
- What belongs in the ledger and what should remain in a separate document
- Quarterly reconciliation against bank statements
- Maintaining the habit through months where it feels inconvenient
- The cloth-bound notebook is introduced and first entries are made during the session
Process
Enrol by contacting us — workshop dates are released quarterly and places are limited to twelve participants.
Receive a short pre-reading note one week before the session — two pages, to arrive with a basic orientation.
Attend the full-day workshop at our Kuala Lumpur studio. Materials, notebook, and year-plan are provided.
Leave with a functioning ledger, a completed first entry, and a printed year-plan for the months ahead.
Programme II
Pre-Retirement Reading Programme
RM 2,180 · Five sessions · Up to 8 participants
A five-session programme for working adults in the last ten years of their planned working life, who would like a considered understanding of the shape of retirement before taking specific steps. The programme is educational in character — specific product choices are left to the participant.
Sessions covered
- Session 1 — EPF withdrawal sequencing and account structures
- Session 2 — PRS considerations and voluntary contribution structures
- Session 3 — How post-retirement expenses typically differ from working-age ones
- Session 4 — Housing decisions in later life
- Session 5 — Medical insurance continuity and the gap years between work and coverage
Process
Contact us to enquire about the next programme cycle and confirm your availability for all five sessions.
Receive the session schedule and a brief orientation note on what to bring to Session 1.
Attend five sessions at our Kuala Lumpur studio, typically fortnightly over ten weeks.
Leave after Session 5 with a working map of the retirement transition — and the questions to bring to a licensed adviser for the product decisions.
Programme III
Private Household Review Engagement
RM 4,450 · Four months · One household
A four-month engagement designed for households that prefer a quiet, deliberate review of their financial picture conducted at their own pace. Appropriate for households that value a reading relationship over brisk consultation — covering cash flow, savings, investments, insurance, obligations, and medium-term goals.
What the engagement includes
- A detailed initial listening meeting — the facilitator listens, asks, and builds the picture
- Four working sessions covering cash flow, savings, investments, insurance, obligations, and medium-term goals
- A closing review session in which the written summary is read line by line
- A printed summary in a cloth-bound folio — kept by the household, no copy retained by Sable & Co
Process
Contact us to discuss availability and whether the engagement suits your household's current situation.
Initial listening meeting — approximately two hours. No documents required at this stage, just a conversation.
Four working sessions, typically one per month, at the studio or a mutually agreed location.
Closing review session — the written folio is read together, corrections made, and the document handed over.
